Captain Bruce G. Schuette, USN
A native of Versailles, Ohio, Captain Schuette reported to the United States Naval Academy where he graduated in May of 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Economics. CAPT Schuette first served aboard the USS CLEVELAND (LPD 7) as Propulsion Two Officer and as 2ND Division Officer from January 1996 to January 1998. CAPT Schuette next reported to USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73), stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI, from March 1998 until December 1999, as Strike Officer. CAPT Schuette then went on to earn a Masters of Science degree in Systems Integration at Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA from January 2000 to January 2002.
Following graduate school CAPT Schuette started down his Operations path by serving as Operations Officer in USS HAWES (FFG 53) from August 2002 to January 2004. CAPT Schuette remained in operations by serving as Destroyer Squadron TWO TWO’s Operations Officer from January 2004 to October 2005. In October 2005, CAPT Schuette was assigned to COMNAVSURFLANT as the Force Combat Systems Officer. He remained in this position until June 2006, at which time he was selected to serve as Executive Assistant to COMNAVSURFLANT for the remainder of his tour. In September 2007, CAPT Schuette was assigned to USJFCOM as the Joint Cell Lead in the J3/4 Force Analysis Department. He remained in this position until October 2009.
In March of 2010, CAPT Schuette returned to sea as USS BAINBRIDGE’s (DDG 96) Executive Officer, a position he served until taking command of USS BAINBRIDGE from November of 2011 through April 2013. Following command CAPT Schuette attended the Eisenhower School (formally ICAF) at National Defense University and earned a Masters of Science Degree in National Security and Resource Strategy along with completion of Defense Acquisition University’s Senior Acquisition Course. After this education CAPT Schuette worked for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Developmental Test and Evaluation) and the Frigate Program Office (PMS 515) through July of 2016 and was selected for inclusion into the Surface Warfare Officer Acquisition Corps (AC). In August 2016, CAPT Schuette reported to NATO SEASPARROW Project Office where he served in the Test and Evaluation Division, as Director of Operations and achieved Program Management Level III Certification.
CAPT Schuette is currently the Project Manager at NATO SEASPARROW Project Office and resides in Lothian, MD with his wife Christine and their two daughters, Caitlyn and Alexa.
